Taking the stage this weekend is the second summer outdoor theatre production from HART: Willy Wonka: the Musical.
Starring Ryan Hardiman (above) in the title role, it's based on the classic story by Roald Dahl, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." It follows the mysterious man who runs a secretive, magical chocolate factory - but five children get the chance to see the amazing secrets behind the doors of his factory. But what price will they pay for their curiosity?
A cast of more than 40 actors bring the story to life for the next three weekends at the Ritter Park Amphitheatre.
The show runs July 11-13, 18-20 and 25-27 at 8:30 p.m. Gates open for picnicking at 6:30 p.m., there's a Children's Preshow, "Adventures in Storyland," at 7 p.m., and "HART's Superstar Preshow" at 7:30 p.m.
It will be presented at the Ritter Park Amphitheater at 1310 8th Ave. in Huntington. Tickets are $15 Adults, $10 Children, $20 reserved seats, group rates are available.
There's a great story in today's edition of the Herald-Dispatch - pick up a copy and read it, or if you're an online subscriber, you can read it here - or check out the photo gallery here.
