On Stage in October

   Wow, there are some terrific shows lined up for the busy month of October - mark your calendars, you're going to want to see as many of these shows as possible!

   Here's the list:
- Brigadoon - Arts Resources for the Tri-State (ARTS) presents the classic musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe on Oct. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. at the ARTS Renaissance Main Stage at 900 8th Street in Huntington. Tickets are $15 for the show only and $30 for dinner and the show (reservations required – call 304-733-2787.
- Ah, Wilderness - Marshall Theater Alliance presents the play by Eugene O’Neill Sept. 30, 31 and Oct. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Francis-Booth Experimental Theatre in the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center at Marshall University in Huntington. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and faculty, $7 for children 5-12, and free to full-time Marshall students with a valid ID.

- Selections from The Twilight Zone - AAC presents this adaptation of stories from the classic TV show on Oct. 30, 31, Nov. 6 and 7 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 1 and 8 at 2 p.m. at The Alban Arts and Conference Center at 65 Olde Main Street in St. Albans, W.Va. Tickets are $15 each. Group rate available of $10 per ticket for groups of 10 or more.
- Mary Poppins - Charleston Light Opera Guild and The Clay Center present the musical based on the Walt Disney film and the book by Pamela Travers on Oct. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 11 and 18 at 2 p.m. at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences at One Clay Square. All seats are $25 for reserved seating.
- A Midsummer Night's Dream - Paramount Players present the play by William Shakespeare on Oct. 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Arts Center at 1300 Winchester Avenue in Ashland. Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for students (in advance), or $18 for adults and $14 for students (on the day of the show).
- Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde - Kanawha Players will present the play on Oct. 30, 31, Nov. 6 and 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the LaBelle Theater at 311 D Street in Charleston. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, senior citizens and children under 18.
- Hansel & Gretel - Children's Theatre of Charleston present the musical on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m., Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Oct. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theatre. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students.
- [title of show] - West Virginia State University Theatre Dept. presents the musical (which features mild adult language) on Oct. 1, 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the WVSU Skeen Theatre in the Cole Bldg at Institute, W.Va. Tickets are $5 each. WVSU students are admitted free of charge.
- The Best of Scarpelli and Kehde - Contemporary Youth Arts Company (CYAC) presents this musical revue on Oct. 1, 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. at the WVSU Capitol Center Theatre at 123 Summers Street in Charleston. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens.
- Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike – Portsmouth Little Theatre presents the comedy (Rated R) on Oct. 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. at 1117 Lawson Street in Portsmouth, Ohio. Tickets are $12 for Adults and $10 for senior citizens and students.
- A Midsummer Night's Dream – The Alban Arts Center will present the classic play by William Shakespeare on Oct. 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. at 65 Olde Main Street in St. Albans, W.Va. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children and senior citizens.
- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - The LimeLight Theatre Company present the classic play on Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 18 and 25 at 2 p.m. at the WVSU Capitol Theater at 123 Summers Street in Charleston. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students - or 4 tickets for $40!
- The Addams Family - Southern Coalition for the Arts presents the musical based on the beloved TV show at a special midnight matinee on Oct. 2. The event includes live bands, a “Zombie” 5K run at 9 p.m., curtain at Midnight. Shows will also be presented Oct. 3, 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. All shows will be at the Coalfield Jamboree Theater at 308 Main Street in Logan, W.Va. Tickets are $12 each.
- Murder and Merriment present Interactive Murder Dinner Parties, including: The Ghost of Windsor Manor on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at Chief Logan State Park in Logan, W.Va. Tickets are $35 per Guest or $68.98 per Couple, by reservation Only. Call 304-792-7125; The Haunting Party on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at The Greenhouse of Teays Valley in Hurricane, W.Va.
