(Over the next couple of weeks we'll be looking at the upcoming seasons for local theatre companies, one group at a time.)
Theatre companies (as a general rule) set their schedules on a season that either follows the calendar year - or the school year.
In Huntington, Arts Resources for the Tri-State (ARTS) follows the first path - and they've already announced their season for 2016. All the shows will be presented at the Renaissance Theatre at 900 8th Street in Huntington - shows will be in either the Ballroom or the Main Stage.
Here's the rundown for 2016:
- As You Like It - January 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 (staged in the Ballroom, directed by Mike Murdock)
- A Little Night Music - March 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 (staged in the Ballroom, directed by Bil Neal)
- August: Osage County - May 13, 14, 19, 20, 21 (staged on the Main Stage, directed by Mike Murdock)
- The Full Monty - August 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 (staged on the Main Stage, directed by Amy Carlson)
- God of Carnage - October 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 (staged in the Ballroom, directed by Gene and Coni Anthony)
- ARTS New Works Festival - December 2, 3, 9, 10 (all over ARTS - managed by Mike Murdock)
It's a great season - and as the members of the company like to say:
There’s never been a better time to be at ARTS! Be a part of it!
