Auditions for "An Evening with Gilbert & Sullivan"

   Auditions are being held next week for the upcoming ARTS production An Evening with Gilbert & Sullivan.

   Performances will be May 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 at the Renaissance Center Ballroom in Huntington.

   The auditions will be held Saturday, March 4 at 1 p.m. and Monday, March 6 at 7 p.m. at the Renaissance Theatre at 900 8th Street in the Renaissance Center Ballroom (Saturday) and Orange Room (Monday). All who are auditioning please show up at these times.

   Prepare two song excerpts, 16 to 32 bars each; one ballad-style and sustained, the other quick and wordy (patter-song-ish). They do not have to be memorized, but must be performance-ready. 

   You may be placed with other voices to create combinations (duets, trios), and if so will be taught a brief part.

   There will also be cold non-music readings from G&S scripts.
