If last weekend you missed Alchemy Theatre’s latest play, the very funny Picasso at the Lapin Agile, the good news is: you have two more chances to catch it!
We have another interview with a member of the cast to share - let’s hear from the talented and very funny Brian Cook:
Q: What’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile about – and what is a Lapin Agile?
Brian: “Picasso” is about two hours long, with an intermission. “Lapin Agile” is the bar in which the story takes place.
Q: What character do you play?
Brian: I play Sagot, the titular character’s art dealer.
Q: Rumor has it that this play is actually funny. True?
Brian: Chuck, you know better than to spread rumors.
Q: Why did you want to be part of this play?
Brian: I wanted to work with Messrs. Murdock and Sullivan again. I was also interested in performing a Steve Martin script.
Q: Tell us about the cast – funny, talented, or mostly drunkards?
Brian: Funny and talented, yes. However, the cast has remained fairly sober for the duration of the rehearsal process.
Q: Any unusual challenges with this show?
Brian: Sometimes it’s challenging to keep a straight face when my cast mates are performing.
Q: Why would you recommend this play to our readers?
Brian: The play is absurdly humorous and contains a few surprises scattered throughout.
Thanks, Brian!
Picasso at the Lapin Agile is being presented by Alchemy Theatre Troupe on April 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. at the Kindred Communications Building at 555 5th Avenue in Huntington. Tickets are general admission and are $15 each.
