One Last Show for April - and It's a Good One!

It's Hairspray, of course - the last show in this, the 71st season of the Marshall Artist Series.

The Broadway hit is also a touring show, and it moves into the Keith Albee Theater for one show Wednesday night. I can't recommend it strongly enough - it's a fun, high-energy show!

You can read more about it in this excellent article by my pal Dave Lavender.

A few of us are hitting the road this weekend to catch a couple of shows.

Friday, we are heading to West Portsmouth HS to see Anything Goes. Cats alumna Ravan Idzakovich is featured in that one.

Saturday, we are heading to Capital HS to see Phantom of the Opera. Sarah Pauley, who competed in Charleston's Symphony Idol and performed in HOT's Oklahoma, is playing Christine.

And a couple of people have mentioned running back up to Charleston to see the Charleston Light Opera Guild's A Chorus Line, either this weekend or next.

The date's as I understand them are as follows:

West Portsmouth High School's Anything Goes
May 2, 3, & 4 @ The Vern Rife Center, not sure of the times

Capital High School's Phantom of the Opera
May 1, 2, 3, 4 @ 7:30 @ Capital High (Sunday may be a matinee)

Charleston Light Opera Guild's A Chorus Line
May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, & 17 @ 8pm @ the Civic Center Little Theater (Reserved Seating)

Stephen, thanks for the update! Some excellent shows coming up in May, though none of 'em in Huntington, sadly (that I know of). Those are all excellent choices - I wish I could catch Capital's version of Phantom, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to attend - I hope you can give us a full report! (Same for the other shows you mention, too!)
