This Weekend: "Scrooge the Musical"

Scrooge encounters the ghost of his old business partner, Marley.

Friday's Herald-Dispatch included an excellent article about Scrooge the Musical, as written by my pal Dave Lavender.

You'll have to pick up a print copy to read the whole story (it hasn't been posted online yet as I write these words), but here's an excerpt:
    Everyone has their holiday movie.
For Justin McElroy that movie is the magical musical holiday gift that was the 1970 classic retelling of Scrooge starring Albert Finney.
While McElroy has already chalked up an annual viewing of his favorite holiday flick, he and his wife Sydnee have put their own twist on the musical inspired by that movie as First Stage Theater Company presents Scrooge The Musical that  runs this weekend and next at Jean Carlo Stephenson Auditorium at Huntington City Hall.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 - Dec. 1 and Dec. 7 - 8, as well as at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9 for “Scrooge,” which First Stage has moved westward to the mythical Colorado mountain town of London during 1881 in the midst of a silver mining boom.

Tickets are $12, $10 for seniors and children ages 12 and under. Group rates of 10 or more get $2 off ticket price.
