On Stage in February

   It’s February, and that means community theatre is kicking into high gear! Here are the shows to watch for this month (including two productions of Godspell):

 - Twelve Angry Men - ARTS presents the fiery courtroom drama at the Renaissance Theatre Ballroom at 900 8th Street in Huntington on Feb. 7 and 8 at 8 p.m.

- Godspell - First Stage Theatre Company presents the beloved Broadway musical at the Renaissance Theatre Ballroom at 900 8th Street in Huntington. The show is based on the Gospel of Matthew and Luke. Shows will be presented Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 16 and 23 at 2:30 p.m. 

- Dead Man’s Cell Phone - Marshall's Theatre Alliance presents the imaginative comedy by Sarah Ruhl Feb. 19 - 22 and Feb. 27 – March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Francis-Booth Experimental Theatre. 
Lincoln - the Contemporary Youth Arts Company presents Mark Scarpelli and Dan Kehde's musical that tells the story of the last day in the life of President Lincoln. The show will be presented at 8 p.m. on Feb. 6, 7 and 8 at the WVSU Capitol Center Theater at 123 Summers Street in Charleston. For more information call 304-342-6522.
- Godspell - The Charleston Light Opera Guild presents the beloved musical as the first production of its 65th Anniversary season. The show will be presented in the Guild Theatre on Feb. 7, 8, 14, 15 at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on Feb. 9 and 16 at 2 p.m. 

- South Pacific - The Portsmouth Little Theatre presents Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical. Showtimes are Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 16 and 22 at 2 p.m.

- Dracula - The Alban Theatre presents the classic horror story about the king of the vampires. The show will be presented Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m.
 
- A Streetcar Named Desire - The Limelight Theatre Company presents Tennessee Williams’ award winning drama Feb. 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. at the WVSU Capitol Center Theater, 123 Summers Street in Charleston.
