ONSTAGE THIS WEEK

- As You Like It - Marshall University presents the play by William Shakespeare on April 18, 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center. Uncertain of their standing in court and fearing for their lives, Rosalind and Orlando are forced into exile in the Forest of Arden, only to become entangled in a beguiling game of love, lust, and mistaken identity. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for faculty and senior citizens, and $7 for children ages 5 to 12.

- Hairspray - Huntington High School Theatre presents the hit musical on April 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 7:30 p.m. and April 22 and 29 at 3 p.m. at the school auditorium at 1 Highlander Way. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

- 5th Annual New Play Festival & Student Art Showcase - ACTC presents the annual festival on April 20 and 21 at 7p.m. at 1400 College Drive in Ashland, Ky. Tickets are $5.

- HOODS - The Contemporary Youth Arts Company (CYAC) presents the original drama by Dan Kehde about love, hope and racism in the hills of West Virginia in 1957. It’ll be presented April 19 - 28 at 7 p.m. at the Charleston Town Center on the second floor of the mall, next to Buckle and across from Aeropostale. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Strong and intense language makes this show inappropriate for children under 12. 

- To Kill a Mockingbird - Actor’s Guild of Parkersburg presents the play based on the novel by Harper Lee on April 20, 21, 27 and 28 at 8 p.m. and April 22 and 29 at 2:30 p.m. at 724 Market Street.

- Laughter is the Best Medicine - MOST (Mostly Over Sixty Theatre) present the comedy at the Alban Arts Center on Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21 at 8 p.m., and a matinee on Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m.

- Beyond the Stage - The Children’s Tgheatre of Charleston will present a fundraiser variety show on Friday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the La Belle Theatre at 311 D Street in South Charleston, It will feature Improv Comedy, musical performances and award-winning storytelling from Bil Lepp! - Disney’s Camp Rock the Musical - Jenny Wiley Theatre presents the musical on April 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. and April 22 at 3 p.m. at the Jenny Wiley Mainstage in Pikeville, Ky. Tickets are $9 to $14.

- My Fair Lady - Charleston Light Opera Guild presents this beloved musical at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theatre on April 28, May 4, 5, 11, and 12 at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on April 29 and May 6 at 2 p.m. All tickets $25 available now at charlestonlightoperaguild.org or at Civic Center Little Theatre Box Office starting April 25 open Wed-Sat 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 hour before performances. Call 304-343-2287 for more information.

- Shrek the Musical, Jr. - The Paramount Players present a one-hour version of the musical based on the animated film on May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Ky. Tickets are $9 in advance and $11 at the door.

- Shrek the Musical - First Stage Theatre presents the musical based on the animated film on May 4 and 5 at 7:30 p.m., May 5 and 6 at 2:30 p.m. at Huntington High School’s auditorium at 1 Highlander Way. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and kids under 12. 

- Alchemy Cabaret - Alchemy Theatre Troupe's very first performances is a cabaret to introduce their troupe to the community. Enjoy an evening of American songbook and musical theatre standards. This kick-off event has limited seating - only 75 per night! It'll be presented May 18 and 19 at 8 p.,m. at Huntington’s Union Pub and Grill! Tickets are $25 each. There will be a cash bar.

AUDITIONS FOR: Disney’s High School Musical - Children’s Theatre of Charleston has extended auditions for male roles. They’ll be held on Thursday, April 19 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the the Children's Theatre Rehearsal space at 1120 Kanawha Blvd. E., Charleston. Performances: June 28-July 1, 2018. All performances at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences. Please prepare a musical selection for your audition. Auditions are open to those freshman in High School - adult. AUDITIONS FOR: Accidental Death of an Anarchist - Kanawha Players Theatre will hold auditions on Monday and Tuesday, April 23 and 24 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kanawha Players Theatre at 115 Spring Street in Charleston. SHOW DATES: June 22 - 30 at the Labelle Theatre in South Charleston.
