Breaking and Entering

Most theatre groups are non-profit, which means they exist on the tightest of budgets and the slimmest of margins.

For that reason, it's distressing to hear that some lowlife (or group of lowlifes) has once again broken into the storage facility of Huntington Outdoor Theatre (HOT). A few incidents like that can mean serious problems for most groups - hopefully the culprit will be apprehended soon. You can read more about it here.

That is awful. I feel for Helen and the gang, especially since they're almost ready to mount "Oklahoma". I hope at least that the items that were stolen won't interfere with the show.

My sister built a house last year in Nashville and during construction, theives broke in and ripped all of the copper wiring out. Something needs to be done about the scrap metal issue.

Also, I work in promotions for WCHS-FOX11 and we have been in a partnership with St.Jude Children's Hospital, raising money for children with cancer by raffling a "Dream Home"...a few days ago someone broke in to the home and stole 2 plasma screen TVs and DVD players. Some people have no conscience these days.

I hope justice is served. Cold. With no dessert.

I agree we're seeing some sad times lately and I hate for any group - especially those working with our community youth - to have to experience ordeals such as this.

That being said...I've heard that many of the 'higher ups' in HOT receive paychecks for their time and energy. Perhaps they would be willing to forgo payment this season and purchase the items that were stolen ?
